Last week, TMZ reported that the Duke and Duchess were chased by the paparazzi soon after the couple attended a glitzy NYC gala where the Duchess of Sussex received an award. After they left, they got into an SUV that was followed by the police, but that’s when the chase began.

Royal expert Omid Scobie added on Twitter, “Despite being confronted by uniformed police multiple times, the paparazzi’s cars continued their pursuit in trying to follow the Sussexes and Doria to the private residence they were staying at.  Traffic violations by the drivers include driving on a sidewalk, going through red lights, reversing down a one way street, driving while photographing and illegally blocking a moving vehicle.”

But if there’s one thing that a lot of people noticed is that in the photos of Harry, Meghan, and Doria in a taxi cab, they all had very different expressions on their faces. Prince Harry looked like he was legitimately scared for his safety. Meghan Markle was sitting right next to her husband and looked like she was smiling for the cameras. Doria, meanwhile, looked like she was utterly bored. That, or she just didn’t want to be part of the media circus.

That’s why so many people believe that she might have been left embarrassed over what happened that night.
