General Hospital spoilers and updates for Friday, May 19 tease secret deals, desperate deeds and cheatin’ hearts! Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) talks to someone about a secret deal, Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) does a desperate deed, and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) plays cheatin’ hearts.
Sasha Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) updates Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) who she still thinks of as a mother figure. Sasha proudly declares she’s taking charge of her life again to Nina, and has decided she doesn’t need the guardianship anymore. She handled herself just fine in spite of a challenging situation that could have made her have another nervous breakdown-but didn’t.
Sasha taking steps to emerge from her guardianship couldn’t come at a worse time for Gladys, however. But she can’t stop Sasha from taking charge of her life, financial and otherwise, again.
At Kelly’s, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) tries to win back Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) after she dumped him shortly before her unplanned trip to Greenland. She shuts her eyes but it looks like she’s shutting them out of frustration that Scott is trying so hard to change her mind. He has some kind of surprise for her and he tells her he doesn’t want to ruin the surprise-she doesn’t look like she’ll accept it. Perhaps she just needs a little bit more time to get past being held hostage on the ship where her daughter died.
Cody likely interrupts Scott and Liesl’s conversation as he comes back to tell Scott maybe they can do something about that. Previously, Scott and Cody had talked about suing the WSB for the loss of the Ice Princess necklace once owned by Cody’s adoptive father, Leopold Taub (Chip Lucia). Never mind that Scott was the one who called the WSB in the first place with them calling a drone strike that was diverted at the last minute!
Dominique Stanton (Shell Danielson) who was the mother of Scott’s daughter Serena Baldwin (Carly Schroeder) once wore the necklace. The problem is, Cody’s not really Taub’s son unless maybe adoption counts in inheritance.
Back at the hospital, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) updates Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) on his decision to let go of his vendetta against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). He explains that it is all Willow Corinthos’ (Katelyn MacMullen) idea but Dante has questions-he wants to know if it really is Willow’s idea or if it’s really Michael’s. It was really Willow’s idea, she had told Michael to look ahead to what his little sisters and their children would think, warning it could backfire and turn them against him. Dante knew of the vendetta but not of the setup to turn Sonny into the Feds, but Michael called it off too.
Meanwhile, at Pozzulo’s, Gladys does a desperate deed in repayment of her humongous gambling debt to Selina Wu (Lydia Look). Selina made her a deal to be her spy on Sonny, but Selina’s been working with Sonny for a while-ever since the Five Families dwindled down to two! Gladys breezes on in and tells Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) and Sonny’s bodyguard and tells them to take a number, because it’s family first, and she’s family.
There’s someone ahead of her but it’s not Dex and the other guy-there’s someone else talking to Sonny who he also considers family. Gladys will have to take the number.
Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is talking to Sonny, and has an important request. Apparently, Sonny’s willing to work with Jossyn and makes her some kind of offer. She tells him she’s about to take him up on his offer-which probably concerns Dex and their relationship. Sonny has known about their romance for months, he’s not blind-he doesn’t have a problem, she just needs to steer clear of “the business”. It’s the same deal that her mother Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) dealt with for years when she was married to Sonny.
Still at GH after the DNA testing has been done, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) complains to Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) about something Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) did. She complains that Jordan did it deliberately, possibly talking about anything recent to before the wedding, when Jordan had implied to Trina that her mother had lied. Jordan didn’t say it but implied that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was her birth father, and between what Jordan and Stella Henry (Vernée Watson) said she figured it out.
Marcus will give Portia some good advice to just wait and see what the DNA tests prove or don’t, even though Curtis could be Trina’s father, so could he. At least the years-old question will be settled!
Meanwhile, back at the Savoy, little do Marcus and Portia know Jordan’s done something deliberately again-namely, came onto Curtis! She squeezed his hand and gazed into his eyes, and they came together in passionate kissing. Now Curtis seems to be playing cheatin’ hearts on Portia, telling Jordan to come on, let’s get out of here. It has been obvious Jordan wants Curtis back and Portia has been upset with her ever since she came back to Port Charles because of it.
