The Young and the Restless News: Michelle Stafford Is Making No Excuses For Phyllis Summers

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that if there’s one person who knows everything there is to know about Phyllis Summers and how she operates, there’s no doubt that person in her portrayer, Michelle Stafford. The actress recently opened up about her character and how she basically “had to do what she had to do” when it came to getting rid of Jeremy Stark’s body. Speaking to Daytime Confidential in a new interview, the stunning actress opened up about Phyllis Summer and how she’s been showing her dark side lately. As many The Young and the Restless fans already know, Phyllis faked her own death so she can frame Diane Jenkins for murder. Now, as far as why she did it, could be anyone’s guess, but it’s clear as day that Phyllis is very jealous of Diane.

Michelle put it this way, “I feel like I’ve been doing that all year quite honestly. At one point, I talked to Josh [Griffith, Executive Producer and Head Writer] and I said, ‘With all the history, Diane (Susan Walters) really is a situation for Phyllis.’ Whatever Phyllis has, she wants. Let’s not forget, Phyllis went to prison for the arson thing. Diane had it out for her. I don’t think that ever dies. As human beings, when you go through that with someone, you’re never going to believe that person will change.”

The Young and the Restless News: What’s Next For Phyllis Summers?

Michelle was also asked about how Phyllis managed to dispose of Jeremy’s body in the calm way that she did it. For Phyllis, she felt like it was no big deal cleaning up the room after a bloody stabbing. It was her way of chilling out. The actress explained, “Have you ever watched any of those with murderers and they talk about how after they kill there’s a sense of peace? I think that’s how we played it. She had already cleaned up the place and she knew she had to get rid of the body. She’s got to do what she’s got to do! If I gotta throw him in Lake Michigan, then I got to do it!”
