A kiss is just a kiss unless it’s a soap opera kiss, right? General Hospital star Nicholas Chavez recently opened up about Trina and Spencer’s reunion and how the moment was just as unexpected for them as it was for fans. Here’s what he has to say.
Nicholas took to his Twitter account to clarify a few things about his character and his on-screen love interest. The handsome actor said that he really didn’t expect his co-star Tabyana Ali to jump in his arms in the way that she did. He wrote, “The number one question that I’m seeing getting asked is was that planned? I mean, how many times did we rehearse the jump into my arms? Because I don’t know if you saw that, but I mean, if that was a diving competition, she would have gotten a 10.”
Nicholas also said that he and Tabyana really didn’t have a lot of time to prepare for the scene seeing how soaps usually don’t have that much time for rehearsals with their fast-paced environment. He said, “We rehearsed it once. She was just supposed to hug me. It was supposed to be a nice embrace, we were gonna turn around, we were gonna kiss. Tabyana [Ali, Trina], in the spur of the moment — and I love that she did this — in the spur of the moment, when we got to the actual take, she jumps into my arms without warning! It was beautiful. I loved it. Definitely threw me for a second and then once I recovered… I mean, it was just so sweet.”
Nicholas added that the heart-warming moment was as real as it gets. He added, “That was not a rehearsed moment. It was completely improvised.”
Awww! It’s no wonder fans love Trina and Spencer so much. Watch this space.
