That’s because the on-again, off-again loves are headed towards a corporate battle that might see things explode between them if they don’t keep the peace. In a new interview with Soaps.com, Days of Our Lives Head Writer Ron Carlivati says that these are going to get pretty interesting between these two lovers. He said, “Gabi and Stefan have finally gotten to a point where they’re on the same page at the same time, which hasn’t happened in a very long time. They’re finally in a good, solid place. In the past, they’ve often found themselves fighting for control of DiMera Enterprises. Now, they want to consolidate their base of power, which puts them on a collision course with Nicole [Arianne Zucker] and EJ [Dan Feuerriegel].”

With that said, Carlivati added that fans will definitely see fireworks explode over at the DiMera mansion in the coming weeks ahead. He said, “Those two couples are going to butt heads. It’s fun to watch Nicole and Gabi as rivals because they are, in many ways, equally matched. Nicole isn’t quite the manipulative schemer she once was. She’s softened a bit over time, but that part of her didn’t die, it’s just sort of dormant.”

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: What’s Next For Gabi And Stefan?

Many DOOL fans commented on the storyline with, “Team EJ on this. Gabi and Stefan are starting to grate on my nerves,” along with, “I’m reluctant to invest viewing time and interest in this story when I already know at least one of the leads is leaving the show.”
