The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Shemar Moore Opens Up About His Return To Genoa City

He’s back and let’s just say that everyone, everywhere is certainly excited for his return. While on The Talk, The Young and the Restless star Shemar Moore opened up about his return to the soap while also paying tribute to his late co-star, Kristoff St. John. He says that he wouldn’t be where he is today if it weren’t for Kristoff. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

Shemar put it this way, “I’m going back to where it all started. That was my first home here in the game of Hollywood. Without The Young and the Restless, I wouldn’t be sitting here, and I had eight amazing years on that show. And my brother, may he rest in peace, Kristoff St. John, he is a large reason that I have found the success I have…I got on that show in the beginning, I was scared to death. I was nervous. I was like, I’m not supposed to be here. What if I can’t handle it? And he basically just embraced me and said, ‘Step by step, we’re gonna get you there.’ And he gave me the confidence, he gave me the belief and as I started to climb higher, he was pushing me from the back going, ‘Go, brother, go.’”

Shemar also provided a little preview as to what’s to come. He also said, “So, to go back home, I would go back to Young and the Restless any time they asked me. I started my career 29 years ago on that show and The Young and the Restless is having their 50th and that’s a landmark. That’s something special.”

You just gotta love Shemar and his incredibly positive attitude everywhere he goes, right? It’s also great to hear that after all of these years Shemar still considers Genoa City to be home. That’s great!
