Kate Mansi is back and let’s just say that the daytime television world sure does have a lot to say about it! While the former Days of Our Lives star did say that she wanted to expand beyond the soap opera world and take on other projects in the entertainment industry, it does look like she’s going back to her roots. The actress will portray Lexi Ainsworth as the new Kristina Corinthos-Davis in Port Charles. While a lot of people are happy to see her on the canvas again, others are shocked over this casting. According to reports, Kate will be making her debut the week of May 22. Needless to say, soon after the announcement was made that Kate would be replacing Lexi as the new Kristina, the internet sure did have a lot to say about the matter. Some commented with, “I love Kate Mansi, but I’m not sure about her as Kristina (I think she’d make a better Lulu, although my ultimate casting wish for that character is fellow Days Abby Marci Miller). And I’m trying to picture her interacting with the rest of the Davis coven….I’m not seeing it, but I’m keeping an open mind cuz I know she can act the hell outta something if given the material.”
Another fan wrote, “While I am gutted for Lexi Ainsworth⏤who I’ve only liked since her return in 2015⏤I cannot hide my excitement at Kate Mansi being cast in the role, especially since I never saw Mansi returning to daytime, especially on another soap opera outside of Days of Our Lives,” along with, “They did this to Lexi years ago and recast her and with a flop of an actress. They then brought Lexi back. I love Lexii! And that they never did anything with her is a travesty!”
So far Kate Mansi herself has not made any comments about the matter just yet.
