Why Do Prince William And Kate Middleton Travel In Separate Cars?

It seems to be a question that is on a lot of minds lately. Many royal fans have noticed that Prince William and Kate Middleton often travel in separate cars whenever they arrive at their royal engagements and public appearances. Apparently, there’s a good reason for it. Keep reading below to find out why.

Why Do Prince William And Kate Middleton Travel In Separate Cars?

Just this week, Kate Middleton was spotted making her way to the coronation rehearsal with Prince George and Princess Charlotte in her car. Prince William arrived separately with just their son Prince Louis.

Needless to say, the internet sure did have a lot to say about the matter on social media. Many royal fans and critics alike have said, “When I was growing up it was unheard of for the heir to travel with the monarch and would have been cause of great concern if they did. Over time that rule has slowly been eroded to the point where it’s now a shock when they do travel separately,” along with, “Diana broke tradition and insisted William travel with her and Charles when they went to Australia. I assume it will go into effect at a certain age for George, possibly already has.”

Another critic wrote, “We know Charles used to be in the same car as William; hell Harry talked about it just in Spare before he married Meghan, they were all in the same car together. William and George rolled up to KP together in 2019 by themselves for the “heirs only” photoshoot. So no, its not because they don’t want the two heirs in the same car. That may be the official excuse, but its not the reason.”

Royal Fans Weigh In

And then there was this comment, too: “My guess is security. William and George are the 2nd and 3rd in line to the throne. Safer for them to travel separately.”

Of course, Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter but as you can see, all of the speculation suggests that the royals travel separately for security purposes. Now, whether or not that is true is anyone’s guess at this point. But to assume that no one wants to travel in the same car because of silly feuds or fights might be wrong.
