Speaking to Soaps.com in a new interview, Ron Carlivati admitted that things are going to be getting pretty dramatic for her character in the coming weeks ahead. He put it this way, “Obviously, Nicole doesn’t know who the father is. It’s important for the audience to remember that Nicole and Eric didn’t mean to cheat. We used the drugged biscuits as something of a loophole to allow these two people who have a complicated history to sleep together.”

Ron also said that Nicole won’t be sharing her pregnancy with anyone in Salem anytime soon. He said, “She realizes there’s a good chance she won’t be able to carry this child to term, as has been the case in the past. With that being the case, she thinks to herself, ‘Why am I going to tell anybody anything at this point?’”

The scribe also added, “Look for Anna [Leanne Hunley] to become an important ally.”

Of course, many Days of Our Lives fans sure did have a lot to say about the matter. Many of them commented with, “Honestly, the only bright spot for me with this is Anna. Otherwise, I’m not interested in anything that ties Eric and Nicole; the chemistry is still there, but all those two do is cause each other misery, pain and a constant flooding of weepiness,” along with, “Any story that involves Leann Hunley’s Anna Fredericks Brady DiMera is a winner in my book! I hope the child is Eric’s for the simple fact that he has no children. EJ has Johnny and Sydney.”

Another fan wrote, “I hope it’s Eric because Eric and Nicole belong together and always have! And they’re hot together. Something very. much lacking with current EJ.”
