Days of Our Lives star Victoria Grace, who is best known for her role as Wendy Shin, has been left absolutely heartbroken. That’s because her nomination for a Daytime Emmy award this year has been rescinded for this reason. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

According to Deadline, Victoria was nominated for the Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series category. However, she’s been forced to rescind her nomination because of a huge mistake that was made before she made her submission. The official rules say that in order to be nominated for that particular category, you should be no older than 18 years old on at least January 1, 2022. Victoria had actually turned 21 back in 2021, which makes her too old to be considered for Outstanding Younger Performer.

Victoria took to her Instagram account to address the matter. She said, “I was honored to be nominated for a Daytime Emmy and to be recognized by the Academy. Unfortunately, there was a huge misunderstanding across the board regarding the rules for this year’s category.”

She continued, “This is obviously a surprise and I am heartbroken, but in fairness to all, I‘ll be rescinding my nomination. I wish the best of luck to all the nominees. I will continue to work hard to earn another Daytime Emmy nomination next year!”

Many of her social media fans commented on the matter with, “You deserved it so much! You are one of the best characters on Days of our Lives. There is no doubt that you will get another chance. Keep on working hard and do what you are doing as next year will definitely be your year to win,” along with, “As heartbreaking as this was I gained a lot of respect for you for the class you just demonstrated.”

Another fan wrote, “So sorry this happened, your nomination was so well deserved and I was hoping to see you win. Seems they need another category to me. Thank you for your excellence as an actress and hope to see you nominated in the next round!”
