Katy Perry Says She’s Not Going To The Coronation Just As An American

Chart topper Katy Perry says that she’s very honored to be performing at King Charles’ coronation. However, she just doesn’t want to be seen as an American performer on what will most likely be a very historic day for the British monarchy and Great Britain as a whole. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in a new interview, the signer said that she’s more than excited to perform her long string of hits in front of King Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles and the world. She said, “I’m grateful I get to go. I met His Majesty to be a few years ago and he named me as one of the ambassadors to his organization, The British Asian Trust, which is an organization that helps fight to end child trafficking. So I’m also an ambassador for UNICEF, and it really aligned with my values. That’s mostly why I’m going, to be an ambassador and to say, ‘Hey, this is me from the USA.’ No, but it’s so cool.”

Katy also said that she’s currently focused on preparing for her performance, which will no doubt be watched by millions of people from around the world.

One source close to the situation put it this way, “Katy is very honored to be performing at the coronation concert. She is excited,” the source said, noting that her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, “has been supporting her. She’s been taking good care of herself and interested in sticking to a clean way of life. She is hellbent on clean eating, meditation, and managing stress better. She’s in a good place.”
