The Young and the Restless Star Rory Gibson Compares Eric Braeden To Paul Newman

There’s no doubt to anyone that he’s a legend, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he is being compared to other legends, too. The Young and the Restless star Rory Gibson couldn’t help but put Eric Braeden in the same sentence as Paul Newman as he believes that the two men have a lot in common. We don’t doubt that, for sure. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the handsome actor was asked about the first time that he got to meet Eric Braeden and of course, Melody Thomas Scott. He recalled, “Mel is just like the mama there. The second I saw her, she gave me a big hug. Eric is an awesome man and so cool. He’s like Paul Newman cool and almost like old-school Hollywood. He’s really easy to talk to. We talk about boxing and Muay Thai.”’

Interestingly enough, Rory’s The Young and the Restless co-star Conner Floyd also had some interesting things to say about the one and only Victor Newman. Connor said that when he first met Eric, he had every reason to be nervous. After all, he is a huge daytime television legend! Connor put it this way, “I met him when we shot Chance’s welcome home party and I was really nervous because I had a long speech that I had to do in front of everybody but I wanted to show them that I came to play. After I got through it, Eric said to me, ‘That was great, man. Good job, you know your stuff, which is awesome.’ And then he gave me that good old veteran/rookie talk, which I thought was awesome.”
