General Hospital spoilers and updates for Wednesday, April 19 tease feelings of fear and matters of life and death. Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) has feelings of fear that they’re running out of time, and Esmé Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) tells someone it’s a matter of life and death.
At the hospital, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) thinks he’s got a bright idea, but Laura Collins (Genie Francis) appears to be shooting it down. She tells him, no, Curtis, you can’t do that, as he relays his idea and it’s plain he doesn’t like what he’s hearing. Curtis desperately wants to help find and rescue Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) because the longer she’s a stowaway on The Haunted Star, the more her chances of being detected.
If Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) or one of his henchmen discover her onboard, it’s pretty sure it’s bye-bye Trina. That’s the last thing Laura wants, but there has to be a safer way to get things done.
Meanwhile, on The Haunted Star, Spencer is feeling fear as he tells Trina if they don’t find a way to take Victor down, it’ll be too late for everyone. They will come up with a plot to slow down the ship, by Trina sneaking into the engine room and sabotaging something. That way they hope they won’t go too far from the headings and coordinates that Trina had told Laura on the phone earlier when she was in the communications room. But the longer it takes, the less time they have, although so far Trina hasn’t been spotted-but Victor’s henchmen did notice that walkie-talkie missing she took.
Back in Port Charles at GH, Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) asks Nurse Elizabeth Baldw
in (Rebecca Herbst) if she can do something for him. She’ll be sure to oblige, and she’ll also pay him a compliment. Soon she’ll be the new head nurse of General Hospital once everything is put in place.
But for now, she’ll be treating patients instead of supervising nurses and she’s just fine with that. Undoubtedly, she’ll jump in with her nursing skills should she be needed even after she’s promoted.
There are several matters of life and death in Port Charles right now, and Esmé should be one who knows. Her baby, Ace Prince-Cassadine (Joey and Jay Clay) is also on board The Haunted Star and she’s very worried about him. She tells someone it’s a matter of life and death, and she would be right about that. The longer it takes for rescue to arrive and Victor taken down, the longer Ace, Trina, Spencer and Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) are in danger.
On the ship, Victor is angry as he learns of a setback, and threatens to have someone carried off as cargo! Hopefully, Trina has not been discovered as she tries to sabotage the engines, and that’s who he’s talking to. However, Thursday Victor will give Spencer bad news, so it could be Trina-related.
Just how far they are from Victor’s intended destination, is impossible to tell since Trina, Spencer and Liesl don’t know where he’s headed for sure. Laura made an educated guess, and the closest ones to Venezuela now are Holly Sutton, (Emma Samms) Ethan Lovett, (James Ryan) Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner).
At Wyndemere, Ava Jerome (Maura West) gives Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) some food for thought as they discuss a matter that sounds important. Carly’s fussing, asking what they could possibly have in common besides hating her-what, Carly hates herself? The two are probably talking about something they do have in common, namely each having a small daughter with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) and Donna Corinthos (Scarlett Spears) are very close.
Elsewhere, Sonny has questions for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) as he asks if she knows what something’s about. Nina bites her lip like she’s upset by the question, or the answer is something she doesn’t want to say. Right now, the most pressing thing in both their lives is the kidnap victims on the Haunted Star.
Spencer is Sonny’s nephew and Liesl is Nina’s aunt, and if they’re not rescued and brought back soon Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) might die. It’s a tense situation all around, for everyone.
