General Hospital news says that Evan Hofer has just celebrated a huge milestone in Port Charles. The actor has now been with the hit ABC soap for one full year! Here’s what he has to say about it.

Sharing a photo with Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) in the background, Evan captioned his pic with, “I’m a little late but what a year! Incredibly grateful for this opportunity and all the wonderful people at GH. Thank you all for my best year yet!”

Many of his fans commented on the pic with, “Best new character and actor in a long time. Love Dex and Joss! When are you going to be in the opening credits? Look for you every day,” along with, “Your chemistry with Eden is amazing. May everyone have someone in their life look at them like Dex looks at Joss.”

Back in December of last year, Evan detailed his journey to Port Charles and boy, was it an interesting one. He told Soap Opera Digest in an interview, “I kept leaving town for [acting gigs], and eventually, I just couldn’t make both work. Once I was 18 or 19, I started realizing how much I enjoyed playing different people and getting to experience different kinds of situations.”

General Hospital News: What’s Next For Evan?

Evan also said that he auditioned a few months before he found out that he got the role as Dex. He said, “I believe everything works out the way it’s supposed to and that everyone ends up where they’re supposed to,” he notes. “And I’m so grateful that the job I got ended up aligning with Maurice [Benard, Sonny], because from the first day, he just really took me under his wing and empowered me to be myself within this format. I told Maurice that I think as an actor, I’m good, but I want to be great. So he holds me to a very high standard and he watches my scenes and gives me notes. He’s been so good to me.”
