Royal Family News says that it’s been officially announced that Prince Harry will be attending King Charles’ Coronation on May 6th. Unfortunately, he’ll be going by himself. That’s because his wife Meghan Markle is not traveling to London for the festivities with him and apparently, she’s got a good reason for it, too. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
It’s been announced that Prince Harry will fly to London to help celebrate King Charles on what will most likely be a very special day for him. A spokesperson for the Sussexes released a statement that said, “Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that the Duke of Sussex will attend the coronation service at Westminster Abbey on May 6. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.”
This certainly ends weeks of speculation as a lot of fans couldn’t help but wonder if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would attend the Coronation or skip it all together. And now it’s being said that Meghan is staying behind in California because the Coronation falls on the same day as the couple’s son Archie’s birthday. One source close to the situation even said that Meghan wouldn’t miss her son’s birthday for the world.
Meanwhile, it’s being speculated that Harry is going to make an incredibly short trip to London and might even make it to the Coronation and back home for Archie’s birthday on the same day. Royal expert Omid Scobie wrote on Twitter, “I understand that Archie’s fourth birthday (also on May 6) played a factor in the couple’s decision. Expect it to be a fairly quick trip to the UK for Prince Harry, who will only be attending the coronation ceremony at Westminster Abbey.”
Should Harry make it back in time for his son’s birthday, that would definitely make him a candidate for Father of the Year, right? He’s one royal who certainly is very dedicated to his family, even if it’s not the royal family.
