Well color us surprised on this one. Royal Family News says there’s a new report that suggests Prince William might be feuding with his mother-in-law, Camilla Parker Bowles. That’s because they are having trouble coming to terms over one key issue with King Charles’ upcoming Coronation. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
According to new reports, William and Camilla are clashing over some of the symbolic objects that are expected to reflect the royal duties and responsibilities that she will be taking on as the new Queen of England. As many fans know, Prince William has long been a critic of the contemporary ivory trade, yet it is being reported that Camilla will hold a gold scepter with a cross and a cross that will be made of ivory.
Of course, William is none too pleased with this idea as it’s going to make him look like a hypocrite in front of the entire world. There’s no way he can stand there next to his stepmother – and the Queen of England – with her holding something that was made out of ivory, especially considering how long and hard he’s fought against the temporary trade of it. Prince William knows that all eyes are going to be on the royal family during the Coronation and the last thing they need is criticism of any kind.
Needless to say, it doesn’t seem like Camilla is going to listen to what Prince William has to say about the matter. She’s waited long enough for her moment in the spotlight. Now that the time has come, she’s going to have the final say of what she wears and what she doesn’t wear, regardless of what Prince William or anyone else has to say about it. Watch this space as we have a feeling that this might just be the beginning of Camilla and William’s very long royal feud and perhaps even battle for power, too.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
