It seems as though a lot of fans can’t help but wonder why William Lipton left General Hospital. Well, thankfully the actor, who is best known for his role as Cameron, has some answers. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the talented actor once again explained that he’s taking a break from his work on General Hospital to focus on his studies. As many fans probably already know, William, and quite a few other young actors on the soap, juggle their work on the soap with their studies at school. You definitely have to commend them for taking on so much, right? Sydney Mikayla, who used to play Trina, had done the same, too.
William put it this way, “As you know, I am a student in college and sometimes schedule-juggling can get very different for everyone. [So I’ll be] taking a couple months off, waiting for school to end [for the year] and rejoining the cast in the summer.”
William also said that because of his workload, he hasn’t had much time to be himself and have fun. He said, “School has been enough of a load to just kind of focus on for a bit. I’ve been playing some more shows with my band, which has been fun, and I’ve had more time to rehearse with them. But I told my mom, ‘Maybe I’ll take some wood shop classes,’ just pick up some really random skill.”
But don’t worry, William says that Cameron will be back before anyone even notices. He continued, “I started [on GH] when I was a sophomore in high school and now I’m a sophomore in college. I’m so thankful for everyone’s concern and the love they’ve given me. I loved working there and I still love working there. It will be super-interesting to see what’s gone on in Port Charles upon Cameron’s return!”
