General Hospital’s Lynn Herring On Lucy’s Back From The Dead Journey

General Hospital throwing a Nurses Ball without Lucy Coe seems sinful but that is exactly what might have happened if Lucy hadn’t escaped the safe house when Victor started shooting.

General Hospital’s Lucy Had A Long And Winding Journey

Despite no body ever being found and nobody truly witnessing anyone shoot Lucy Coe, Port Charles believed she was dead for months and fans didn’t even see her until Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) found her in Paris. They then made their way back to Port Charles and a safe house where Lucy sparred with Vanna for months while hiding out from Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).

Lynn Herring admitted in the April 17, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest that she didn’t know what would happen when she was told Lucy would be shot and she would be off the canvass.

When Executive producer told her Lucy and Vanna would be hiding for a while, she didn’t realize quite how long that would be.

“In the back of my mind, I had a little thing like, ‘Uh-oh, am I hiding until the Nurses Ball?’ It kind of scared me because I thought, ‘This is an interesting way to have folks pull together for the Nurses Ball with Lucy in trouble.'”

Lucy Made A New Debut Right At The Ball

As we now know and expected, Lucy made her presence and her alive status known at the ball right when Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) was doing a half-hearted and sometimes mean-spirited tribute to her. By then, Herring was itching to get back into the action.

“I was missing out,” Herring told Digest. “I was seeing some of the stories that were so good and because she was off the canvas, it was heard. I was anxious to get back to play it out. I really was.”

Lucy might be back among the Port Charles living, but Anna’s life is on the line because Lucy’s carelessness led Victor right to their location and he shot Anna point blank in the abdomen. Will Lucy fee guilty about what happened or will she absolve herself of all sins as she often does? After all, it was Anna who recruited her into this mess to begin with. And, it was also Anna who told her to stop seeing Victor, but Lucy would not listen. Stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to see what Lucy does next.
