The General Hospital world has lost another incredible soul. Soon after it was announced that General Hospital producer Nneka Garland passed away on March 29th, actor Steve Burton, who once played Jason Morgan on the hit ABC show, reacted almost immediately by sharing a post on his Instagram account. Here’s what he has to say.
Sharing a throwback photo of the two of them together, Steve wrote on his Instagram account, “As you may have seen from others.. This beautiful soul has passed and is in Gods beautiful presence. Nneka Garland was a Saint. She had one of the toughest jobs…She was the glue that held it all together for years at General Hospital. Because of her hard work and character she became a producer at Gh… and that was great..but really it’s about who she was..how she took care of us and especially our kids. Everyone has stories about this..She always made time to spend time with everyone’s kids when they would visit..she would buy toys for them and have games ready..She just sent me a pic last month of Makena and Jack she found on her phone from 2011. My heart aches.. but I know you’re in a better place. Thank you Nneka for always being there for me… and countless others. Love you. Miss you.”
Of course, it didn’t take very long for Steve’s fans and followers to comment on his photo. Many of them wrote, “Condolences to you, her friends and family. It’s sad you are saying goodbye to her today on the day gh is saying goodbye to Epiphany! RIP Nneka and Sonya Eddy!” along with, “I am so sorry your heart is aching right now. It’s clear from your beautiful words that she was a rare gem, and her kindness didn’t go unnoticed. My heart goes out to all who loved her!”
Another fan wrote, “I assumed that she was that kind of person. She probably always had a hug or something very good to say about everyone. She will be very missed. She was so very very loved. What you wrote was beautiful.”
