Royal Family News: Brian Cox Says He Does Sympathize With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Succession star Brian Cox says that he sympathizes with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and everything they’ve gone through, both behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace and of course, with the public and British media. Royal Family News: Brian Cox Says He Does Sympathize With Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

In an interview with the Radio Times, the Scottish independence-supporting republican said that he doesn’t think that it’s fair that Harry and Meghan have gotten so much hate in the UK. He said, “ I actually have enormous sympathy for them. They’re the product of an institution which is moribund and shouldn’t exist any more. But that’s a difficult situation where [Meghan] comes from, and it’s understandable that she sees something [appealing] – and it does look like a fairy tale. But it was a fairy tale that went horribly wrong.”

He added, “I think they are victims,” and also said that when it comes to the monarchy and the system, “fundamentally, in this day and age, doesn’t make any sense.”

Yet, earlier in the month the Hollywood actor did hint that the Duchess of Sussex knew what she was getting into when she married into the royal family. In other words, there’s no denying that Meghan knew that her life would never be the same the moment she made things official with the love of her life, harry.

While speaking to Haute Living New York, Biran said, “You can’t go into a system where somebody’s already been trained to behave in a certain kind of way and then just expect them to cut themselves off. I mean, she knew what she was getting into.”

If that weren’t enough, Brian also admitted that he doesn’t think Britain really needs a royal family at this point. He said, “In my opinion, we shouldn’t have a monarchy. It’s not viable; it doesn’t make any sense. F–k it.”
