General Hospital spoilers tease Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has been holed up with the love of his life, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) for a couple of months now while he awaits the takedown of his sinister father, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). Anna and Valentin have spent years dancing around their feelings for one another, with him always a smidgen more interested in her than the other way around.

But on some level, Anna knew she was waiting for Valentin to come into his own and find his way in the world without using sabotage and manipulation to pull strings at every turn. The remarkable turnabout in Valentin’s character led to the love story GH fans have been waiting decades for. Now, the penultimate moment that will serve as the cherry on top just might grace us at the Nurses’ Ball.

Everything Valentin and Anna have been working toward with Victor is about to come to a head. Unfortunately, it won’t work out the way they had planned. Once Deputy Mayor Eileen Ashby’s (Heather Mazur) body washes ashore, they’re going to know Victor must have caught onto her and double-crossed her. Killing her was the worst possible outcome, and they have to proceed knowing that he made her make that phone call to them and he knows they’re alive. The jig is up! On the upside, Valentin and Anna can come out of hiding now.

GH Spoilers Say Valentin Puts on the Charm

The couple will be freed up in the nick of time just before the Nurses’ Ball is set to take stage. This will be the perfect backdrop for Valentin and Anna to let loose and celebrate for a moment with those they love dearly who have been mourning their alleged deaths for months. Knowing the truth is out in the open — mostly — they will keep a close eye on one another throughout the night and hope that Victor doesn’t make his presence known. But nothing will put a damper on Valentin’s plan to woo Anna and possibly ask her to be his wife.

GH fans are loving the Vanna storyline they’ve waited for ages to see come to fruition, but we can’t discount how much of this relationship is built upon their professional lives versus their personal ones. Sure, the more that Valentin has opened up and shown he has a vulnerable and human side, the more Anna fell for him. However, the majority of their time is wrapped up in espionage and spy life. Would they last if they gave it up and just tried to be a happily married couple?

Probably not, and that’s why they’ll be spies until they die. Seriously, though. Anna’s relationship with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and many others didn’t work because they didn’t understand her commitment to her work.
