When it comes to the British Royal Family, the worst feeling in the world is the feeling of being ignored. Royal expert and author Tom Quinn, who often does have something or another to say about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, believes that soon enough the royal couple are going to end up becoming insignificant in the media. That’s because they won’t have much more dirt to spill about the royal family and sooner rather than later, people are just going to lose interest in them.

He put it this way, “My fear is that Harry will become like Edward VIII and Meghan will become like Mrs Simpson. They [Edward and Wallis Simpson] lived in this beautiful house in France, but we know they were desperately unhappy. Edward VIII was a bit like King Lear, where he gives away all his power, but somehow thinks he can still exercise power through his children. I think Edward VIII, when he abdicated and went to live in France, thought he would still be an important figure.”

What’s Next For Harry And Meghan?

Quinn continued, “And he was for a little while, in the same way that Meghan and Harry are kind of significant now because there’s so much coverage and commentary about them. But that will fade and, unless they can escape all this negative stuff and find something positive that people are interested in, they will become insignificant in the way that Edward VIII became insignificant and very unhappy.”

Now, whether or not that turns out to be true, remains to be seen. For now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are anything but ignored as they are making the gossip headlines on almost a daily basis for one reason or another. Clearly, the public is still very much invested in them.
