The Young and the Restless fans are making their thoughts on the matter pretty clear. In fact, it seems like there are a lot of fans and critics out there that are none too pleased with the fact that Doug Davidson (ex-Paul Williams) was not invited for the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations, even though he was on the show for well over four decades. While Doug has not been seen on the canvas for a very long time, his fan base has been campaigning to get him back on the show for years now. One of the reasons why Paul Williams hasn’t been cracking any cases with the Genoa City Police Department is because the execs at the show have not extended Doug’s contract, much to the dismay of his fans everywhere. Still, they think he should have gotten the respect that he deserves by being invited for the 50th anniversary celebrations.

Of course, many The Young and the Restless fans sure did take to their social media accounts to write comments such as, “I am DISGUSTED that you were not at the 50th Anniversary celebration.  There were folks there who didn’t have longevity or backstory like you. They should be ASHAMED!” along with, “Doug it is a disgrace that you were not at the 50Th anniversary celebration. Ima longtime viewer from the early days. Paul and Lauren were my favorites at one time. The Cassandra Rawlins story I still think is one of the best ever.”

Y&R Fans Are Outraged: Why Was Doug Not Invited For The Celebrations?

Another critic wrote, “It saddens me that you weren’t included for the 50th anniversary. However, I remember you for many years. I watched Y and R while I was a stay-at-home Mom. Thank you for sharing your talent.”

So far Doug Davidson himself has not made any comments about the matter, but there’s no doubt that he’ll say something soon enough. Watch this space.
