General Hospital star Dom Zamprogna recently set the record straight about the rumors suggesting that he might have had some beef with another co-star on the set of the show. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Dom was asked if he ever had any beef with his former co-star Steve Burton (ex-Jason Morgan) while he was still on the show. That’s because it was always Jason who played the big time hero who got to kill the bad guys on the show. But Dom said, “Nah, are you kidding me? That guy was there for, like, 25 years! I would never have thought I would ever be the chosen one to shoot the bad guy over the show’s leading ‘shooting the bad guy’ star. I never had any illusions of grandeur.”
Hey, we believe him. That said, Dom did talk a little bit more about what it’s like to play a cop in Port Charles. When asked if he knew what he was doing with guns and handcuffs on set, he admitted, “I still don’t know what I’m doing with handcuffs! I hate working with handcuffs. I find them so annoying. If I know the camera isn’t going to see the cuffs, we just fake it because I can’t stand them. I played a cop a bunch of times before GH, so I didn’t feel like it was out of my comfort zone at all to do. I’m not a huge gun guy in real life, but I do know how to look like I know what I’m doing with one.”
Dom also admitted that he wouldn’t be a great cop in real life. He said, “I think I would take things too personally and probably freak out. I don’t think I’m calm enough to be a cop, you know? It seems like a job for a much lower-heart-rate type of person than I am.”
