Should they go or should they stay at home? Apparently, everyone has an opinion about it. Of course, we are talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and whether or not they should attend King Charles’ coronation. And now Oprah Winfrey has been asked about it and has shared her thoughts on the matter, too. Here’s what you need to know.
While on CBS This Morning, Oprah was asked to share her thoughts on whether or not Harry and Meghan should travel to London to attend the coronation. Her answer was a simple one, no less. She said, “I think they should do what they feel is best for them and for their family. That’s what’s the bottom line it comes down to,” while also adding, “They haven’t asked me my opinion.”
Then again, it doesn’t seem like Oprah really is that close with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to begin with. In fact, she hasn’t been with the royal couple ever since they sat down with her for their explosive bombshell of an interview back in 2021. Harry and Meghan told Oprah that things were so bad behind closed doors at Buckingham Palace that they had no choice but to leave the royal family. Harry admitted to being both financially and emotionally cut off by his father King Charles while Meghan hinted that there was a royal racist who was apparently ‘concerned’ about how dark their son’s skin would be before he was even born.
Of course, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are yet to properly respond to their coronation invite. But seeing how their two children Archie and Lilibet were not invited to the chubbly, there’s a chance that they might not go at all. That’s because little Archie’s fourth birthday lands on the same day as King Charles’ coronation. We’ll update you with all of the latest details as they come in.
