Some people believe that it would actually be a better idea if Prince Harry stays at home for King Charles’ coronation because all he will do when he gets there is still his father’s spotlight. And that’s the last thing the royal family wants to see happen right now.

Royal expert Nigel Cawthorne believes that the media will get it all wrong by focusing too much time on what Prince Harry will be doing and who he will be or not be talking to rather than on King Charles. He put it this way, “Meghan has, thankfully, kept her mouth shut lately. It’s Harry wanting an apology that poses more of a threat to the Coronation. But Charles knows he can’t go around apologizing to people – that’s ridiculous. It’s far beneath the King to do that.”

That said, Nigel added that he’s not even sure if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will even make it to the coronation at all. He said, “I’m not sure to be honest. By and large the Sussexes do tend to seize the initiative with these things. They are the ones with the agenda,” along with, “It’s certainly self-aggrandizement. They’re bigging it up as much as they can. With their whole [Coronation] invitation and Netflix over there in the US, they’re just feeding off their profile.”

What’s Next For The Royal Family?

He continued, “The longer the ‘will they or won’t they’ [discussion continues] the more attention they’re getting. It goes hand in hand – the higher the profile they have, the more they can capitalize on it in the US.”
