General Hospital Spoilers: As Sonny Closes In, Dex Must Choose His Alliance: Sonny or Michael?

General Hospital spoilers hint that Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) isn’t feeling so hot about his career choice right now. The decision to take down famed mobster Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) wasn’t one that he made lightly when Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) put out feelers for a covert accomplice.

Still, now that he’s knee-deep in this and knows the only way for him to get out of it is to go through it and see to it that Sonny ends up behind bars, there isn’t any room for backing out. So when he senses that Sonny is zeroing in on him and might know what he’s up to, he’s going to have a pretty hefty decision to make. Will Dex plead with Sonny to have mercy on him and roll over on Michael at the same time, or is he going to stick it out with Michael and see to it that Sonny never sees the light of day again?

General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny is Breathing Down Dex’s Neck

Dex has tried to verbalize his concerns about Sonny to Michael, but one boss isn’t hearing it about the other. Michael keeps diminishing Dex’s anxiety and acting like everything is fine with Sonny, which is really against Michael’s better judgment. He knows how Sonny has responded before when people have tried to infiltrate his business and take him down. He also knows it’s never ended well for those people. Perhaps there isn’t enough skin in the game for Michael because he believes if Sonny figures out Dex is a plant, he still won’t know who planted him there until it’s too late. That might be how Dex starts to feel about Michael, too.

GH Spoilers Tease Michael Doesn’t Have Time to Hold Dex’s Hand

Dex could want to even the score a bit by making Michael take on more responsibility for his involvement in this, but Michael doesn’t have time for that. He’s far too distracted by Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) health issues and the reality of possibly losing the woman he loves more than anything in the world to cancer to be preoccupied with Dex’s anxiety about Sonny. He hired Dex to take care of this problem for him so he didn’t have to worry about it. When Dex keeps coming around looking for reassurance, he might start making Michael feel like he’s more trouble than he is worth — and this whole plan is, too.

As Dex starts to feel like Michael isn’t appreciative of the effort he’s putting in and couldn’t care less if this takedown happens or not, he might start second-guessing how much he has put himself at risk for the sake of Michael’s revenge plan. Dex could consider what it would cost him to back out of this and come clean with Sonny, but deliberating over what Sonny might do to him in retaliation could be far more anxiety-inducing than worrying he’s suspicious of him.
