Days of Our Lives star Robert Scott Wilson (Alex Kiriakis) opens up about his love for his sports and his love for all of the sports teams from New England. Keep reading below for everything he has to say!
The actor tells Soap Opera Digest in a new interview that there’s a reason why his heart will always be in New England. That’s because he’s from Massachusetts and will always root for his home state sports teams. When asked how he became such a huge fan and sports lover, he said, “It was really just growing up around it, growing up in Massachusetts and New England in general. Sports are a religion over there. I was definitely a Patriots fan the most. They were always my number one, for sure. I was a big Celtics fan second, Red Sox fan number three, and Bruins fan below that. I root for them all.”
Not only that, but RSW also said, “I’ve got shirts, hoodies, custom Tom Brady [jerseys] tucked away. I’ve got a bunch of New England gear. I’ve got a few Celtics jerseys. I usually wear them when I go to games.”
And of course, his all-time favorite athlete is one that you don’t have to guess at all. Robert said, “I’m still a Tom Brady fan through and through. He was religious to us in New England. I was a Big Papi fan, David Ortiz. He was a top-notch player with the Red Sox. I saw a lot of his games.”
As a sports fans, Robert also has some superstitions (as most of us do). He explained, “I’ll usually put on something. It’s usually a hat. I’ll put on my Red Sox hat, if I’m watching a game. I’ll throw on Celtics gear or Pats gear. Even if I’m by myself in most cases. You have to put the juju out there, you know?”
