The Young and the Restless spoilers say that with the way things were going, we knew this was going to happen sooner rather than later. At the Abbott cabin, Diane can’t believe what she’s hearing when Jack pops the all important question to her. Jack wants her to be his new Mrs. Abbott. Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, The Young and the Restless Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith puts it this way, “Despite retreating to the cabin out of necessity to keep Diane safe, it provided Jack and her with an opportunity to be alone and focus on each other, away from the Abbotts and Phyllis. Diane is quite surprised by Jack’s spontaneous proposal. It’s hard for Diane to process Jack’s proposal as it’s been a moment she’s dreamed about for a very long time.”
The Young and the Restless spoilers say that for Jack, this has been a no-brainer. He’s actually been thinking about making things official between him and Diane for a very long time now. Griffith notes, “Jack is not naive to their complicated history, but in fact, it’s his reflections about their past which leads to his proposal.”
With that said, Griffith added that Diane worried that if she marries Jack, it will do more harm than good to the man that she loves. The scribe said, “Jack will be shocked by her response, as will Ashley and Phyllis when they learn of his proposal and of Diane’s decision.”
In other words, you might want to watch this space because it seems like for once Diane will be making a decision that will benefit others more than herself. It’s about time she started thinking about the people that she loves the most, right?
