General Hospital Star Rebecca Herbst Basically Says What We Are All Thinking About Nikolas And His Sudden Departure

Say it isn’t so! But sadly, it is. General Hospital spoilers say that Nikolas Cassadine has sadly been written off the show and of course, fans and critics alike sure do have a lot to say about the matter. And yes, Rebecca Herbst is not too happy about it either mostly because her character Liz and Nikolas were beginning to share a lot of screen time together! Here’s what she has to say about it. 

General Hospital Star Rebecca Herbst Basically Says What We Are All Thinking About Nikolas And His Sudden Departure

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Rebecca put it this way to the publication, “I was really excited when they put me in a storyline with Nikolas because Elizabeth has so much history with him. There are 25 years of layers between them — they’ve been friends and lovers and enemies and I’ve loved him and I’ve hated him. There’s a lot going on between those two, so I was sad that that aspect of it didn’t go on longer.”

She added, “I’m sad that there’s no more Nikolas on the show because I think for Elizabeth, it was really great having that character to spar with like that because it was real. We didn’t have to, like, make up history because people remember the history. I wish we could have enjoyed that relationship a little bit longer.”

With that said, if there’s anything that we’ve learned about the daytime television world it’s that you are never really gone forever, right? There’s always a chance that Nikolas may come back, just like he has so many times in the past. It happened before and it can happen again. So far the producers of General Hospital have not made any comments about the matter but fans have said over and over again that they would love to see Tyler Christopher back on the soap.
