Someone hold the phone! General Hospital comings and goings tease there might be a possibility that actress Vanessa Marcil might return to Port Charles to reprise her role as Brenda. That would certainly be an epic move, right? Here’s what you need to know.

General Hospital Comings And Goings: Is Vanessa Marcil Returning To Port Charles?

Speaking to SoapHub in a new interview, Vanessa said that she would be absolutely open to coming back to General Hospital. She said, “My gosh, well, you know, I will eventually. Like, there’s no way that it won’t happen. You know, I hate to even say the thing, so I won’t say the thing, but it’ll happen eventually.”

She also added, “I wouldn’t have a career, [my family] wouldn’t have the beautiful lives we have if they hadn’t given me my first shot there, so I’ll always honor where I came from. But in addition to that, I just love that character so much. She’s such a multilayered, incredible character that I think was very ahead of her time.”

This isn’t the first time that there’s been speculation about Vanessa possibly returning to her daytime television roots. Back in March of 2022, she left some rather flirty comments on Maurice Benard’s Instagram account while leading a lot of people to believe that a Sonny and Brenda reunion was in the works. As many General Hospital fans can recall, Brenda began her hot and steamy romance with mobster Sonny Corinthos during a time when crime was high on the streets of Port Charles. Brenda and Sonny’s hot and passionate chemistry was also one of  the reasons why General Hospital enjoyed some of its highest ratings in the early 90’s. 

General Hospital Comings And Goings: Maurice Wants Her Back, Too!

Maurice himself said that he would love to see Vanessa back on the canvas. He said, “If I had my say, she would have been back about five years ago. She brings ratings and if you put two and two together, that’s four. So, if you bring her back, it’s a no brainer.”
