The Young and the Restless star Melissa Claire Egan has some very exciting news to share with her fans! The actress, who is best known for her role as Chelsea Newman on the hit CBS soap, has shared that she’s pregnant with her second child! She and her husband Matt Katrosar already have one son, Caden. Here’s what she has to say.
Sharing a photo of her growing baby bump along with her son Caden, the proud mama wrote, “Looks like we’re just destined to have August babies! So grateful and excited to be adding another cub to our family of Leo baby boys. Caden’s gonna be a big brother!”
Back in 2021 and soon after she announced her first pregnancy, Melissa took to her Instagram account and admitted that her journey to motherhood sure wasn’t an easy one. That’s because she had suffered a few miscarriages. She wrote at the time, “As happy as we are, the journey to get here has been filled with lots of tears, stress, sadness, helplessness, hopelessness, and 2 miscarriages. To anyone going through this process or any kind of fertility issues, I feel you, I see you, you’re not alone. I wish I could jump through this phone and give you a big hug. Please do not give up hope. Keep trusting and have faith. You got this!!!”
These days it seems like Melissa is definitely much happier as she and her husband are building the dream family that they’ve always wanted. Now, whether or not this means that her on-screen alter ego Chelsea Newman will be sporting a baby bump on the canvas remains to be seen, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the character ended up pregnant, too. When it comes to Chelsea and her shenanigans, anything is possible, right? It would definitely be interesting if she ended up pregnant with Adam Newman’s baby. Now, whether or not that happens remains to be seen but for now we can’t wait to see more photos of Melissa’s bump in the coming months ahead. Watch this space.
