Apparently, someone thought it would be a good idea to allow Douglas to choose which guardian he wants to live with – Hope or Thomas. Even Steffy doesn’t think this is a very good idea as it’s a huge decision for a young boy like Douglas to make. She’s also worried that Douglas might end up feeling rejected, especially if he ends up choosing one parent over another.

Of course, many The Bold and the Beautiful fans sure had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Some comments included, “Seriously though what did they expect? Douglas is a smart kid he didn’t want to hurt either of his parents so he chose option number 3. Plus he may have noticed that Hope/Liam didn’t want to actually share custody with his father and he may have also noticed Thomas isn’t the best option either,” along with, “This is so dumb. If Thomas and Hope pre-signed papers that Douglas can live with anyone he wants then that is extremely foolish on their parts. What’s much more likely is that the pre-signed papers specifically discussing each other only. And if Steffy wasn’t listed in the documents – which she wasn’t since everyone was shocked – then nothing is binding and they will need to have another hearing or at least new custody papers drawn up. They should let Douglas stay with Steffy for a while before drawing up papers that last until he is an adult.”
