General Hospital Spoilers: Nina Worries Willow Won’t Make It — and Sonny Sees Her Through

General Hospital Spoilers reveal Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is worried sick that her daughter, Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen), isn’t going to be okay. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for this family ever since they found out Willow was fighting Stage IV Leukemia.

Her hospitalization brought everyone together, and most of them have been able to set their differences aside for the betterment of Willow’s health right now. However, they’ve all experienced what it’s like to be given hope that Willow is going to be okay only for it to be taken away. When that happens yet again, Nina is going to be devastated.

General Hospital Spoilers — The Stem Cell Transplant Can’t Happen After All

Right now, the family is waiting for Willow to be strong enough to withstand more rounds of chemotherapy. That has to happen before she can receive the stem cells that her medical team harvested from her placenta and her daughter’s umbilical cord. So far, things are looking up, but soon, they will take a turn for the worst.

When the lab sends word that the stem cells collected from the placenta and umbilical cord will not be sufficient for a transplant for Willow, the whole family will be crushed — especially Nina, who has been barely hanging on and hoping she just gets to really know her daughter someday.

GH Spoilers Hint Nina is on the Verge of a Breakdown

Nina won’t take this news well. She never thought she would have the chance to have a child again and knowing that Willow is absolutely her last shot at a mother-daughter relationship is going to cripple her. Nina longs to have a relationship with Willow and sees her chances of that flying out the window as the doctors say there is nothing else they can do.

Willow is going to remain in rather amazing spirits claiming miracles happen every day and holding out hope for a donor, but Nina won’t have nearly as much hope knowing that she wasn’t even a good match. Will Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) be able to help her through this as her grief turns to anger toward his ex-wife for waiting so long to tell the truth

The waiting period hoping that a suitable bone marrow match turns up before Willow dies is going to be excruciating for Nina, and it may just turn her to stone in some ways. Sonny will want to be there for her, but at the same time he knows he needs to protect Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) — the mother of his children. He can’t let Nina’s bitterness toward Carly actually endanger his ex-wife. Meanwhile, a mystery donor just might come into the picture in the eleventh hour that floors everyone.
