He blackmailed Steffy and Finn by telling them to keep their mouths quiet about Sheila Carter otherwise he would call the police and let them know about how Taylor shot and almost killed him several years ago. It was a dirty thing to do, but it worked because Sheila is now a free woman. Steffy and Finn failed to press charges on her just because they didn’t want to see Taylor behind bars instead.

The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say that Taylor knows just how dangerous a person like Sheila can be and what kind of threat she is to Steffy, too. Just like Finn, Taylor is going to do whatever it takes to protect her baby girl from harm.
