British Royal News says that while it’s only been a hot minute since Spare has hit bookshelves, it seems like Prince Harry’s very personal memoir is getting some rave reviews online. That’s right – Spare is actually getting a lot of five star ratings on sites like Amazon. Here’s what you need to know.

Some people who have already managed to get their hands on the book have written reviews such as, “Beautifully written. He wanted to make sure he told his story and d his wife from torment. Couldn’t put the book down. Very happy I purchased it. I believe what was written and I am glad he is finally getting the help he needs and letting it all out,” along with, “Prince Harry delivers. Boy, does he deliver. He offers us real insights into a life lived behind that curtain. And, if anything, he overshares the details of his life. Frostbite, anyone? lol But all joking aside, the frostbite anecdote in and of itself is proof positive that Prince Harry bares all in this book, so I’m glad he included it. In that sense, the anecdote is very revealing.”

Another fan wrote, “How dreadful it must be to spend your entire life as the Heir waiting for a job you were born into to materialize only when your parent dies and perhaps only when you are at retirement age. How much worse must it be to be the Spare, waiting in the wings for a role which will likely never come, understudy to The Crown. Prince Harry and Meghan didn’t just live life in that horrifying institution; they escaped from it. And good for them.”

During his sit down interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby, Prince Harry says that his royal family members are like abusers to him. He also accused them of showing no willingness to reconcile but denied that his “honesty is burning bridges.”

When Brady said that Harry hasn’t just burned bridges, but has basically thrown a hand grenade towards his family, the Duke of Sussex responded with, “Well they’ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile up until this point. And I’m not sure how honesty is burning bridges. You know, silence only allows the abuser to abuse. Right? So I don’t know how staying silent is ever gonna make things better. That’s genuinely what I believe.”

Concerning his ongoing battle with the press, Harry also said, “Specifically with phone hacking. That, I put in my claims over three years ago and I’m still waiting. So one might assume that a lot of this, from their perspective, is retaliation, and trying to intimidate me to settle, rather than take it to court and potentially may have to shut down.”
