Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Fans React To Kayla’s Death

While there’s no doubt that even a death in Salem doesn’t mean that you are gone forever, it does seem like this might be the end of the road for Kayla Brady. Just as Steve returns to Kayla’s bedside to tell her about Kate, she cries and tells him that she wants to see her kids. In her final moment, Kayla told her children that she loved them all and that she asked that they look after one another before telling them her final good-bye. It was a sad scene for everyone involved.

Needless to say, it didn’t take very long for both Days of Our Lives fans and critics to weigh in on the matter. Many of them took to social media to comment with, “The writers aren’t even pretending that these deaths are final. IF Kayla (and by extension, Kate) was truly meant to die, that would have been the episode closer. Instead we had, what, 4 maybe 5 scenes AFTER that?” along with, “Abigail can die permanently but then Stefan is able to hold on to life for several YEARS without a heart! And then Kate, Kayla and eventually Marlena will all “die” but we already know that they will make it back to life so as much as I want to feel something from all the tears and sorrow from Steve, Stephanie, Lucas, etc., it all rings hollow. I know I can just sit back and down the line they will be back. So it’s empty.”

Another critic wrote, “Abigail Deveraux died because they didn’t want to work with Marci Miller allowing her to be recurring, and Ron Carlivati does NOT write for regular-recurring pairs. Pathetic. It was a personal choice by Carlivati.”
