Talk about an end of an era. General Hospital news says that Kelly Thiebaud has opened up about filming her last scene in Port Charles. As many fans know by now, the actress, who is best known for her role as Britt Westbourne, is leaving the hit ABC soap. Here’s what you need to know.
“I don’t know if I can watch today’s episode,” Kelly confessed on Twitter. She most likely knew that the scenes were emotionally heavy
Replying to her TV daughter’s post, actress Kathleen Gati, who plays Obrecht on the show, wrote back, “I just did, and it was so heartbreaking. I’m reliving what we went through. Miss you tons!”
During one touching scene, Obrecht is holding her daughter in her arms just as she is about to take her last breath. “All those kisses I never gave you. All those nights I put you to bed and never rocked you to sleep,” Obrecht lamented. “My precious girl. I love you, sweetheart. Mama loves you.”
According to Deadline, Kelly is leaving General Hospital to star in ABC’s Station 19. She will be joining the upcoming sixth season of the Shondaland series. She will be playing a character by the name of Eva Vasquez, who is the widow of fallen firefighter Rigo Vasquez.
Some fans have taken to social media to comment about her departure. One said, “Hugely disappointing, but I don’t blame her; these writers should be ashamed of the bad writing they’ve been giving Britt in the last several months. She has been a glorified extra since Unvaccinated left the canvas. You can tell they are trying to figure out the direction for her character as they go along. Now with her out the picture. I don’t see why we need to keep the stableman around.”
