British Royal News says that Prince Harry claims that he was assaulted by his older brother Prince William in a bizarre but also violent incident that took place at Nottingham Cottage back in 2019. Apparently, the Prince of Wales confronted his brother about all of the claims made that suggested Meghan Markle was both rude and abrasive behind closed doors, which led to the heated confrontation between the two royal brothers. Here’s what you need to know.
According to his new book, Spare, Harry says that some insults were exchanged before William said that he wanted to “help” his brother. Harry said: “Are you serious? Help me? Sorry – is that what you call this? Helping me?”
Soon after, the Duke of Sussex tried to offer his brother a glass of water and that’s when all hell broke loose. He wrote, “He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Prince Harry then alleges that William told him to hit him back, just like they did during their childhood fights, but he didn’t want to. When William left again, his brother writes, he “turned and called back: ‘You don’t need to tell Meg about this.’”
Harry then said, “‘You mean that you attacked me?’” to which William replied, “‘I didn’t attack you, Harold.’”
Harry says that soon after all of that went down, he immediately called his therapist and not his wife. However, when Meghan Markle did find out about the incident, she wasn’t mad, but just terribly sad that it happened.
So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter. Spare hits bookshelves on January 10th.
