Days of Our Lives spoilers say that if there’s anything that we’ve learned about life in this fictional town of Salem, it’s that you are never really truly dead, even if that last nail is hammered into your coffin. With that said, while it might look like Kate is about to take her last breath, a lot of viewers can’t help but wonder if this is truly the end for her. Here’s what you need to know.

According to the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest, Rex delivers the news to Kate that after he runs her bloodwork, he discovers that she may be experiencing a relapse of the virus. Kyle Lowder, who plays Rex on the hit Peacock soap, puts it this way, “Rex is riding kind of high after being able to deliver the serum that saved Kate a few months ago. When he comes back to Salem for the holidays, he wants to run a few tests on his mom as a follow up to see how she’s doing. He gets the news that things are not looking great, but he tries to maintain a positive attitude.”

Days of Our Lives spoilers also say that after Kate passes out at home, Roman rushes her to the hospital, where Rex takes care of her. Kyle says, “When his mother is there, it’s a different color, a different feeling for Rex. And, again, everything just happens so fast. Rex doesn’t have a chance to say if there is anything left of the original serum. He’s thinking about all that, but before he can really do anything, his mom flatlines.”

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: What’s Next For Rex?

With that said, Rex will do everything he can in his power to save his beloved mother. Kyle says that the scenes were difficult to film. He added, “Those scenes were brutal, personally, to shoot them, and also in the imaginary world of Salem.”
