General Hospital Spoilers: Rory Wasn’t Supposed to Fall for Trina — and he Botched His Job Under The Hook When He Did

General Hospital spoilers hint Officer Rory Cabera (Michael Blake Kruse) wasn’t the man everyone thought he was. Painted as a devoted cop who always did the right thing, and a patient boyfriend who gave Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) the room and time she needed before jumping into a relationship with her, Rory was really spending his time laying the foundation for the ultimate con. Working for The Hook the entire time, Rory was never supposed to die. He met his fate unexpectedly when he crossed The Hook and fell for his mark. When the truth comes out, it will crush Trina all over again.

General Hospital Spoilers — Rory Was Working for The Hook All Along

The truth may not come out for all of Port Charles to see for a while yet, but Rory may have actually been working for The Hook this whole time. He could have been put in place on purpose when Trina was targeted by Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) as a means of making her feel like someone was in her corner, as well as deterring her attention from Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) by giving her another love interest to focus on. Keeping her away from Spencer while keeping tabs on her for the three months of their relationship, Rory served his purpose — until he didn’t. He was supposed to feign interest in Trina long enough to mislead her while The Hook maimed their way through everyone close to her.

GH Spoilers Tease His Feelings Weren’t Fake

Everything was going according to The Hook’s plan, and Rory was being a dutiful avenger, until things got out of hand. The problem is Rory began to develop real feelings for Trina. When he told her he had fallen in love with her, he wasn’t kidding. Not only did she not expect that turn of events, neither did The Hook — who was watching closely and monitoring his every move. When Rory went rogue and decided to tell Trina his true feelings for her, The Hook knew it would only be a matter of time before Rory revealed everything to Trina. He was likely planning to wait until she returned his feelings to do so. The Hook couldn’t take that risk, and eliminated Rory before he could say too much.

General Hospital Spoilers — Is He Really Dead?

Of course, all of this hinges on Rory really being dead, or so it seems. It’s possible that Rory is not dead but is being held captive by The Hook after faking his death. Of course, that is unlikely given that The Hook would have to get the hospital staff — at least a few of them — to go around with the ruse, including Trina’s mother, Dr. Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr). Would Portia do such a thing if she thought it was in Trina’s best interest at the time?

Let’s hope not, given that she watched her daughter go through a similar period of turmoil when she thought her father, Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) was dead. Still, if Rory is alive, it’s possible he may have come clean with the PCPD and the entire scene was set up to throw The Hook off their game and keep Rory protected after he revealed his love for Trina.
