Let’s just say that Lamon Archey has had one heck of a year in 2022. The Days of Our Lives actor, who is best known for his role as Eli Grant, left the show just to temporarily come back a few months later. Here’s a run down of what he’s been up to.

In July, Lamon opened up about his decision to leave the show. He put it this way, “I was down to do recurring, but I just didn’t want to be tied down and not have the freedom to pursue other jobs or play other characters. It’s something [DAYS] couldn’t deal with, and I got that. There were too many obstacles to cross over. They ultimately made the decision that they couldn’t keep me on the recurring status and that was that. It’s one of those things where sometimes you need a push to leave that job. It was a blessing in disguise because that’s what I needed.”

But when asked what he missed the most about playing his character, Lamon said, “To be honest, I miss working with Sal. That’s one thing that I will say. Just the bond that we had built. We literally built “Elani” from the ground up, saw them grow and become this force, saw them become something that the fans fell in love with. That’s one of the things I miss the most. There’s not one particular thing about Eli that stands out to me. It’s more about the bigger picture.”

Days of Our Lives Spoilers: What’s Next For Eli?

In December, the actor briefly returned to DOOL. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, he previewed, “It’s a Christmas surprise to bring Eli and the twins back to Salem. It has been a while since Eli had seen his family and vice versa. It is a good time to get everyone together, and what better time to do it than Christmas?”

That said, we have a feeling that Eli and Lani might return to Salem on a full time basis sooner rather than later. After all, there’s just so much that needs to be said about them, how they are doing with their current situation and their future, right? Watch this space as think there is a lot in store for this couple for 2023.
