It looks like someone is about to get married! The Young and the Restless star Michael Mealor, who is best known for his role as Kyle Abbott on the hit CBS soap, recently announced his engagement to his now fiance, Sasha Sara. Here’s what he has to say!
It was Sasha Sara who announced the news on her Instagram account. She wrote, “I love you, Michael. Forever.” She also shared photos of her new engagement ring. Michael commented on the pics with, “I love you more than you know! You are my world and everything begins now!”
In March of this year, it was announced that Michael would be returning to Genoa City on a long-term contract. But back in September, Michael opened up to Soap Opera Digest about the reason why he decided to leave The Young and the Restless. He admitted admitted that his future relied on his contract negotiations with the producers of the show (as is the case with most daytime television actors).
Michael put it this way, “My manager and I were working ourselves through it, and I think a couple of weeks into it … we were about to film a scene and, Hunter, correct me if I’m wrong, but it was, “Hey, I’ve got to talk to you about some business stuff.” I didn’t realize she was going through negotiations at the same time, so it kind of turned out to where I spilled everything.”
He continued, “Negotiations are a private thing, and I was like, “Hunter, this is what’s happening….” It’s difficult because you love the show and, you know, all that kind of stuff, and you’re so dedicated to it. I mean, it was my life. We worked 50 weeks a year, four days a week, so it becomes such a piece of your life and everyone there is family.”
