Tamara announced the news herself by taking to her Instagram account to write, “Hey all you Days fans!! If you want to see Ava off, tune into DOOL today for her last day in Salem. Thought I’d share some of my memories from the last (almost) two years. Starts at the end and ends at the start with my first nasal swab. Oh Covid!! Thanks for all the love and support you continue to show me. I will miss you all!! Wait, I’ll still be here, you can find me on IG!!”

Of course, many Days of Our Lives fans sure had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Many comments included, “Sad news for this viewer; unlike Kristen, unhinged Ava was fun to watch and Tamara had chem with EVERYBODY (I even thought Ava and Rafe were great together). Just my opinion, but they squandered a potential Ava/Johnny/EJ triangle; it would’ve been fire,” along with, “ays keeps on squandering Tamara Braun. The character of Ava isn’t the best but LBR they could have done more with her than make her crazy (again) she had good chem with EJ but they wouldn’t even go there. She’s a great actress but was written into a corner. I had a feeling she was leaving as she wasn’t at the fan event in November.”

Another critic wrote, “They painted Ava into a corner so I think sending her to Bayview is the best result for the character right now. Presumably she’ll heal enough at some point to return to the show and bring a viable storyline with her when she does. She is a wonderful actress and has done great work on the show no matter what they threw at her. I look forward to her return whenever that happens. Time to focus on other characters now.”

And then there was this comment, “Totally bummed, because I’ve been loving Ava. But no goodbye is forever in Salem. They’ve gotta pay for Bo and Hope somehow. I hope she submits for the Lead Actress Emmy this year because Tamara has been fantastic.”
