The Young and the Restless spoilers say that fans surely didn’t see this coming. There are new reports that say Anthony Morina is out at the Co-Executive Producer of the hit CBS soap. Here’s what you need to know.
According to new reports, The Young and the Restless Head Writer Josh Griffith will now serve as the new showrunner for the soap. As many fans probably already know, Morina has been with the daytime television series since 2019. Previous to that, he worked on All My Children, Port Charles, Generations, Sunset Beach, Santa Barbara and Spyder Games.
Needless to say, The Young and the Restless fans sure had a lot to say about the matter on social media. Many comments have included, “I’ve said it before. Y&R is a snoozefest. It isn’t that all the storylines are awful, altho some are. They are all written boring. No undercurrent of excitement; no building of excitement. Flatlined. So far nothing has shocked the show back to life. I’d love to see a new HW who could balance out dramatic and happier moments/scenes. This would improve the show a lot, make it more interesting,” along with, “This is good and bad news. GOOD because he’s needed to go for the longest time. BAD because it means Josh Griffith is in complete control… and anyone who knows me knows I fully believe the positions of executive producer & head writer should never be held by the same person at the same time. If anything, ditch Griffith, bring on Wendy Riche, and give us a new writing team!”
As many fans can recall, actress Briana Thomas claimed that Morina made repeated comments about her body, offered her a private acting lesson and apparently had her fired when she rebuffed him. Thomas also says that Morina would often leer at her, get close to her, and compliment her looks. He also told her that she could “really be something” and in one pool scene, tried to have her take off her sarong so he could see her in a bikini. “It’s a tough industry to break into, unless you know someone who can help you,” he said, while supposedly touching Thomas’ waist and playing with her bikini strings, according to the suit. “Let’s start with a private session and see if we can get you a little more comfortable.”
