The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Don Diamont Opens Up About Bill’s Sword Necklace

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, actor Don Diamont, who plays Bill Spencer on the hit CBS soap, says that there’s a reason why Bill took off his infamous sword necklace in the first place. He tells the publication, “Well, things didn’t quite turn out as he hoped [laughs]. With putting it back on, it is protection from his emotions, protection from hurt, from everything that hurt him in his adolescence that made him who he is. It’s many things.”

When it is suggested that he puts on the sword in order not to fall on his own sword, Don says, “There you go. That’s a good way to describe it.”

Earlier in the month, The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers said that Bill took symbolic action when he put the Spencer sword necklace back on. You all know what that means, right? Don says, “Historically, the necklace was an object and a manifestation of who Bill is and how Bill say himself. He was a pirate. He took no prisoners. When he took it off, it was a big deal, and now he puts it back on because he feels things are crumbling around him. Everything he has done to be what others have wanted him to be has not given him any personal satisfaction. In fact, he’s really putting the necklace on for protection, from himself and from the outside world. There are many factors that have gone into this decision, but in the back of Bill’s mind, he still does believe that if he can get his family back, then that will save him and he can avoid falling into a deep dark chasm, dark where he has never been before.”
