Piers took to his Twitter account to write, “All the trolls raging that I only criticize Meghan Markle because I ‘fancied’ her & then got upset when she ghosted me… have reminded me that I forgot to publicly wish my wife Celia a happy birthday yesterday.”

He also added, “And yes, she knows she lucked out.”

Um, okay. Many of Piers’ Twitter followers replied with, “This isn’t it. Wishing your wife a belated happy birthday, including another woman in the greeting as an explanation for why you forgot? Dude, delete this. Start again,” along with, “You’re a very sad man Piers. Everyone knows you’re constantly thinking about Meghan and that’s why you forgot to publicly wish your wife a happy birthday. You could have picked a recent picture of the two of you to show the everyone how happy you both are.”

Another critic wrote, “Weird to involve Meghan in your wife’s birthday post, alongside pics of her from ‘96 before you married her. Just bc you’re married doesn’t mean you didn’t fancy Meghan beforehand and are bitter about being turned down.”

In his column for The Sun, Piers also called Harry and Meghan “deluded narcissists” after watching their Netflix docuseries. He said, “Given all his bleating about privacy and the media trading off Diana and the royals, it’s hard to imagine a worse kind of grotesquely hypocritical exploitation than Harry now brazenly using his dead mother to flog a reality kiss-and-tell TV series because he needs to justify the Netflix gazillions.”
