The Young and the Restless spoilers say that she might no longer be in Genoa City, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t been keeping busy! In fact, it looks like Mishael Morgan will soon be making her mark on Chicago Med! Here’s what you need to know.
The actress shared a photo of herself in character as Dr. Petra Dupre from the set of Chicago Med. How exciting! Many The Young and the Restless fans commented on the news of Mishael’s new job with, “Good for her. Get that prime time money. Y&R went from having the best record of black storytelling to now the worst. Hilary was everything but Amanda was poorly executed and Mishael deserved so much better!” along with, “I hope it is the start to a lovely prime time career as well. I’ll miss her on Y&R (I honestly don’t think she’ll be back, they have nothing for her on that show now & really haven’t got about a year).”
Back in October, Mishael opened up as to why she left The Young and the Restless. While on Soap Opera Digest’s Dishing With Digest podcast, Mishael put it this way, “It made me feel like this was the right thing to do, and it’s a nice souvenir to walk away with. Y&R gave me this gift and now I can run with it. Everything was aligning to set me up for whatever comes next.”
Earlier, and in a post on her Instagram account, Mishael admitted that she’s taking a bit of a step back from the show to focus on other things in her life right now. She began her post by saying, “I just wrapped for my last scenes back at Y&R and I just wanted to let the cat out of the bag a little bit. A lot of people have noticed that my name is not on the main credits anymore and I wanted everybody to know that it was my decision. I decided, actually back in December, that I wanted to take a bit of a step back from the show. I just feel like at this point in my life and at this point in my career, I wanted to mix things up a little bit.”
