There’s a new report that suggests Prince William and Kate Middleton are absolutely fine with the world thinking that they are two boring royals because the last thing they want to do right now is engulf themselves in another royal scandal. According to the Daily Mail, William and Kate are happy to be seen as “solid” and “boring” in their work. One source close to the situation even said, “I think they’re so paranoid about ensuring everything is foot-forward and moving past the last disastrous Caribbean tour, they don’t want to take any risks.”

The tipster added that the Prince and Princess of Wales feel like they are in their “serious phase,” for those who understand what that means. The insider said, “They are now edging into that middle-aged era, and what their team call their ‘box office power’ is different to what it was ten years ago. With the Sussexes, they are up against a highly motivated, highly polished machine that exists for the sole reason to be a brand first, last and always.”

At the same time though, palace aides have admitted that this has been a rather bruising week for William and Kate. They didn’t get the rave reviews they were hoping for during their three-day trip to Boston for the Earthshot Awards. The couple were booed during a Boston Celtics game and there didn’t seem to be much interest in their Earthshot Awards, which was broadcast on PBS on Friday. You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who actually watched the ceremony on television. At the same time though, everyone can’t stop talking about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s upcoming Netflix docuseries. They dropped their trailer on the second day of William and Kate’s tour of Boston. Talk about a coincidence or just perfect timing, right?
