British Royal News says that it might just have been a coincidence in the timing, or they really did set out to send out a message here. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being branded as bullies for releasing the trailer to their highly-anticipated Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan during the same time that Prince William and Kate Middleton are on their tour of Boston. But let’s not forget that this is the same tour and the same Earthshot Prize Award ceremony that William and Kate failed to invite Harry and Meghan to. Here’s what you need to know.
Harry and Meghan are being slammed for trying to deliberately take away from William and Kate’s landmark U.S. tour. Many royal critics have said that the “timing draws attention away” from the Cambriges’ time in Boston. Royal commentator Richard Fitzgwilliams even put it this way to the Daily Mail, “‘If you look at it, it would appear there’s a lot for the Palace to be concerned on. What will they reveal? There’s one [photo] where Meghan looks distressed, what is the context behind that? What will they reveal about the way they believe they were treated by the Royal Family?”
Piers Morgan, who almost always has something to say about Harry and Meghan in a negative matter, said soon after their Netflix trailer was released, “Imagine bleating about privacy then doing a kiss-and-tell reality series about your private lives? Then imagine preaching compassion as you trash your family again? Then imagine releasing 1st trailer deliberately to ruin your brother’s big trip to America? Repulsive hypocrites,” he also added, “They don’t want to be left alone, and they’re bullying the Royal Family.”
Many critics have taken to Twitter to write comments such as, “I feel horribly for the people the timing of this latest campaign is actually going to have the greatest impact on, participants of Earthshot who worked hard to make a difference, just 2 have Harry’s spite take attention away from them. That’s v. sad & telling on who Harry is,” along with, “They have no class or protocol. Always looking to upstage because that’s the name of their game. It’s very sad and we will be oversaturated with them soon and then, they shall be passé.”
Another fan wrote, “Watching the break up of a family and one brother having been alienated from the other is very sad for all concerned. But mission accomplished I suppose.”
